A Corner of Sicily in Florence
Arancin will be a delicious discovery. It’s located outside the historic center and the main boulevards of Florence, but still close to the central train station, Santa Maria Novella (just 1.5 km away). It’s not a tourist spot, and the quality of the food is incredible for the price.
The setting isn’t the Renaissance beauty of the city center, but a more urban atmosphere. The outdoor tables are set under a bridge where trains pass on their way to the nearby Firenze Rifredi station, right next to the tram tracks — not the most picturesque, but perfect for a tasty stop.
Here, you’ll find some of the best Sicilian specialties in Florence. There’s also an air-conditioned indoor dining room for quick lunches. Don’t miss the granita in various flavors with amazing whipped cream, warm brioche straight from the oven, cassata, fresh cannoli, and arancini made right in front of you — often served hot and just made. The staff and owners are kind and welcoming.
Easily reachable by tram.
